My biggest advice is, when you fight (and you will) keep the fight on the topic of the fight. Don't drag in other past crap. Also resolve the fight. I often need to go for a bike ride or something to calm down and get perspective, then we come back and discuss the issue and put it to bed. Sometimes we need another discussion a few days later.
